Founded almost 35 years ago in 1978 and located in southern Germany at the bottom of the Swabian Alps in Germnay is a town called Hochdorf. Here the Grimm's toy company designs new products, and finishes each product.
We are a small firm based in Hochdorf at the foot of the Swabian Alb in southern Germany. Here we coat the wood with natural oil, stain with water-based colour and control the quality of our products, then pack and send them all over the world!
All our new toys are designed here. We hope to surprise and delight you each and every year!
The Woodworking is outsourced to a few independent shops in Europe only.
The roots of the firm Grimm´s Spiel und Holz Design began almost 35 years ago - in 1978. In August 2006, the company formerly known as Spiel und Holz Design became Grimm´s Spiel und Holz Design under new ownership.
We are certified in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard.
We regularly test our toys for quality and safety. All of our products including the colour and oil meet the european standard for safety of toys (EN71) and the US standards.
Our wood is only sourced from sustainably managed forests in Europe. We use alder, lime, beech and maple trees.
All colors and oils we use are certified in accordance with the EN 71 and CPSIA/ASTM 963 standards. They are completely harmless.
The fabrics of our dolls are Oeko-Tex certified.

If you clean our products only use a damp cloth. Please do not submerge in water and do not use disinfectant or hot water.
For us, it is important to achieve minimal packaging because we do not want to contribute to worldwide packaging waste any more than absolutely necessary to ensure safe transport.
